Greets. I'm new here, and this is my first post.
Hey panties shoppers, let's have some reviews here. I just decided a couple weeks ago I wanted to start wearing women's underwear, but when I first started shopping I was totally lost.
I've now shopped at 2 different brick and mortar stores, and 3 different online stores. I've gotten a few that were crap, but most that were awesome. Once I figured out the right fit/cut/size for me (US, male, 35" waist, 225lbs), now I know exactly what to buy, what will fit, and I've tried several different brands.
I'd be happy to post reviews/guides of everything I've found. But I thought that might be fun for others too. I'll reply to this thread with my first review and we can go from there.
I have lots of pics, but I'm only into panties and chicks, so I just have pics of the panties themselves. I don't think sharing links is probably allowed so for my first review I'm not even going to share pics. I will, however, give you EXACTLY the info you need to find them online.
Have fun wearing panties!

Maidenform Comfort Devotion Hipsters, 40861 or 40851, size 8/XL
These panties are super super soft. If comfort is what got you on this path in the first place, these things fit the bill. If you also love the idea of girly panties, these are really girly. I have a pair of black ones with a pink vertical ribbons pattern and pink lace, and they're my faves by far. They fit just perfect for me. They're low in the back but they have plenty of support in the front.
These are not what I'd call "newbie" panties. If you're still on the fence about buying women's panties and wearing them, because you're worried about what it says about you, then these will definitely make a statement. They ride low enough though that you can easily keep them a secret if you so choose. I'll post a few more "conservative" ones later.
Gender: Male
My Size: 34"-36" waist, 6'0, 225lbs, XL shirts, men's L underwear.

I agree with Maidenform. My first serious panty after department store ones was Maidenform. They were see thru pink 100% nylon (exclusive of decoration) with a cotton crotch. The label actually said crotch. That was it for me, panties. Maybe it’s just me, but women always seem to know - actually the first thing I usually hear is that they know I wear dresses. Well! I do sometimes.
But it’s great, because they know about the feminine side, and it’s OK to cry. I’m not actually feminine at all, bone idle and work shy in fact, but the women like to work on me.
My all time favourite comment from a woman was “What do you think of these?”, a lace, sideless panty with no elastic at the top of the front of the waistband. Very daring! And so inclusive. They worked though, as panties, and she appreciated the valuable comments. I should add that I didn’t wear them, she had them on under what she called Turkish harem pants. They, were, transparent!!!!! Women are incredible, it’s all there but we men have to make it difficult.
It’s creepy for a man to turn the conversation onto underwear but OK for women, which is unfair. But women talk about underwear most of the time anyway.
Those Maidenforms were borrowed because me and a bunch of lady friends had booked a few squash courts and it was nicer for everyone to have panties on. “We want you to wear these.” I was allowed to keep them.
My first accompanied trip to a lingerie shop went well, (the woman in the shop was great, she took my hand and said “We understand!.”) and I got some Julie Anne panties (pink nylon and mesh with silver grey lace trim, it worked really well!) and a matching bra. Everything was the right size.
I don’t ever know what the view is on this site of wearing a bra but I love the grippy feel of everything. And don’t start me on slips.
I hope this advice thread takes off, it can be fairly quiet here, but yes, fresh info on how and when we decided we wanted to wear ladies underwear would be interesting.
It was also cool to express concerns for secrecy, because society as a whole is still a bit negative, despite the harmlessness of it.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll post my journey here in a bit, but it's time for another review! This is for three different styles of the same range.
Vanity Fair Women's Illumination , size 7/L or 8/XL
Hipsters, 18107
Hi Cut Briefs, 13108
String Bikini, 18108
The first two pairs of these I got in size 7/L. I got the Hipsters and the Hi Cut Briefs. They looked a bit small for me, but they are made of a very stretchy material, so the size actually turned out to be just about perfect. I like my panties a tad on the snug side. If you have a very large package or you prefer a looser fit, the 8/XL will be fine for someone my size (pretty average, see below). I got the string bikini in 8/XL because I wanted a bit of extra material since they're so tiny and low riding in the first place. I'm glad I did, they feel amazing.
The only difference between the three cuts I've listed is how much they'll come up towards your navel. They go from the string bikini to the hipsters, then the hi cut in order of low to high. The string bikini ones do ride very low, but they feel great and unless you've got a grapefruit-sized package, even the string bikini should provide plenty of support. If that's a concern, just go for the hipsters or the hi cut.
These are the more conservative panties I promised. They have no frills or girly traits at all, unless you go for the girly colors and patterns. The hipsters I got are white with pink stripes. Even those, my wife said if I didn't tell her they were panties, she wouldn't know. I kinda took that with a grain of salt but that is what she said.
The material is nylon/spandex, very stretchy, very clingy. They feel amazing inside and out. If you love slick shiny panties, these will do just nicely. They're slicker and shinier feeling than the Maidenform Modal undies (reviewed earlier). If you crave soft and smooth, these will do it for you. I should note, they do NOT have the same shimmer and sheen as those silky satiny ones you used to see everywhere about 10 years ago. But they FEEL the same, or very similar.
I wore the hi cut panties while I was moving a bunch of comic book boxes to the shed out back (air conditioned, gosh, I'm not a savage!), walking through 95-degree heat. I got pretty sweaty. These things held up just fine.
If you're looking for newbie panties, like, you've never gotten panties before, get these. They're about as safe as they get, and they feel so amazing. Just get your normal underwear size, or one size up (that rule holds in general for almost all women's panties, by the way, except some of the off-brand imports from China).
Gender: Male
My Size: 34"-36" waist, 6'0, 225lbs, XL shirts, men's L underwear.
