Maybe have all the girls that are selling their panties on this site pay a fee for advertizing and we can have chat again . Lets face it, more adds than good stories in forum lately, alot of good people seem to be gone. Sorry just my opion . Anyway i's been more than 2 weeks, chat or no chat ???????????????????

If sellers should pay to advertise then shouldn't people have to pay to view the pics that are submitted to the 'pictures' area?
I like the idea of the chatroom (never used it as I'm quite new) and I wouldn't mind paying to use this site, but I am not paying for everyone else just because I am a seller.

I started PantyMan.com as a free site in 1995 and have kept it free ever since. I'll bet I have shelled out the better half of $200,000.00 of my own money since the early days just so others like myself would have a place to meet & chat. I would hate to start charging now, but it has come time to do something as I can not keep running it like this.
The site now commands more time than ever and more capital than ever to run & host. We now have over 7500 users and with all the pictures the cost of bandwidth is rising monthly. I would either charge all the same or make a donation link. I think the donation is the way to go?
Question: would any of you have any issues with donating (vrs) paying ? please LMK.

frankly i would have no problems donating,reason why i wouldn't like the pay by month method is because most of them go by a credit card and i really do not trust them kinda things...last time i used my credit card to buy something i got ripped off and was out 600.00

I would not have issues with donating, however I am a student and my panty selling is my only form of income so I wouldn't really be able to spare much or often :( I'd hate to not be able to access the site though.
How about for those of us who can't pay a lot, we could be assigned as moderators to help you wade through pics and stuff and therefore reduce the time you need to spend on the site? I know this doesn't help with the bandwidth costs though.

Donations are a good idea -it's worked for other sites. If you go this route you should not limit it to Paypal -as some ppl don't use it for various reasons.
Another idea is to limit your direct costs as much as possible -there might be ways to reduce your bandwidth such as not hosting pictures directly on your site (no I'm not advocating stealing bandwidth -you can link to sites that WANT the traffic -or members here can host things like pictures).
Another idea is Advertising -a lot of people hate that idea -but it can help offset the costs -if you go that route you should encourage members to click the ads every so often and spend some time on the advertisers site. I would imagine that this site could generate a lot of interest with some advertisers.
Other ideas -Compress HTML, streamline the site, make many features 'member's only', but keep it free and simple to become a member.
Ask members to contribute more content -better yet, ask members with skillz to contribute code/time/energy: choose some people to be Admins. so they can take some of the load off you, so they can help keep the site efficient, and legal.
Wherever possible use Open-Source solutions -like for the forums!
Streamline AGAIN: who needs HTML in posts? Who REALLY needs 'smilies'?
Anyway, these are just a few thoughts, pantyman -I'm sure you’ve thought of many of them before but I thought I'd mention them anyway.
