You may never know if a lady wears panties or not unless underwear comes up as a topic. I used to be disappointed if it did turn out that a lady I met had no knickers on, just pantyhose. I now accept it as a valid lifestyle statement.
There is someone I meet every now and then through business, and once while we were talking outside, her skirt billowed up and out more than a bit. Another colleague walking past said to her “I could see your knickers!!!”. She smiled wanly at him, and he left us without leering more - he got to speak the word knickers to a lady which would probably earn him notoriety in the circles he kept! She then looked at me and gave a rather pleasing little smile. “No, he couldn’t, I never wear them, just pantyhose.”
She looked searchingly, anticipating what response I might make because we hadn’t talked about underwear before. So I asked her why that was, why didn’t she wear knickers, weren’t they feminine, pretty and designed for a woman’s figure. She said she didn’t like the whole idea of being a woman and having to wear them, being expected to wear them, really. She thought of them as a trophy garment that she was forced to wear so that people would spend all day trying to triumphantly catch a glimpse of them, as we had just seen. It just put her off wearing knickers, so she didn’t any more. Pantyhose was openly fashionable, though, and really did highlight her legs, and the rest of it was in the word panty. She was covered - very convenient and sufficient for her.
So there it was, no nasty cotton crotch, lovely and smooth, no constant checking of elastic, no vpl, no horrid little men checking out for views. Pantyhose was perfect for her, not inherently sexy unless she made it so.
One thing she said was to bear in mind that if you don’t wear knickers, your pantyhose has to be absolutely perfect, no laddering or those odd little spidery lines that form on them after several wears. And your bottom needs to be nicely toned with a perfect shape. I had to say what about your furry mouse, and she said “Hedgehog, actually, immaculately trimmed. Everyone loves hedgehogs.”
