I had been wearing panties and pantyhose for a while, helped by a group of female friends who were kind and supportive. Then I had to move to London for work and once there, found I was alone. London was like that, the rat race, people wanting to talk to you only if you interested in their company’s financial services products. I carried on wearing ladies’ underwear, and tried to talk to the sales ladies in lingerie departments.
Sometimes it went well! I bought an expensive pair of black panties with matching bra from a lovely sales lady who explained a lot to me about bra cup sizes. Sooner or later, she said, I would want to wear a dress so I would need to know about bras. I bought several pairs of expensive stockings from her in various shades, and a garter belt. I hadn’t intended to, but it was a nice experience. I liked the black stockings the best. She explained how to put the garter belt on. I was probably just another mark to an experienced London saleswoman but she was kind to me, and that’s what counts.

I love wearing a bra and recommend that everyone tries one. Women are more sympathetic if “it’s bras as well” (that’s ladies talking about you!). They can so helpful and sympathetic.
An early memory is being given a 36C Marks and Spencer skin tone bra with full cups which could be padded “to give me a nice shape under a top” she said. I was also given a pair of beige lace panties which were not a matching pair to the bra but acceptably close “and are nice to wear”. All very comfortable, nicely fitting and so good for confidence. Even under male clothing, panties and pantyhose can make you nervous outdoors, but a bra makes everything right. We went for a walk in tops and skirts, not very far because she gave me an old pair of kitten heel sandals to have a go at walking in - they were a size seven which is big for a woman but I was a size nine, so not too comfortable but very liberating. There is a definite responsibility when wearing a skirt outdoors, like you are on display, scary and wonderful at the same time.
